How to Play
The picture below shows a typical Orbyx game window, with the key features numbered 1 to 13.

Cannon: This is where you launch your flaming metal cannonballs from. The purple lazer follows the mouse position and indicates the direction the cannonball will travel.

Golden orb: The aim of the game is to destroy all of the golden orbs with your cannonballs.

Ball counter: The number of cannonballs you have left.

Sub-total: This shows the number of points you have accumulated with the current cannonball. When the cannonball exits the bottom of the screen the sub-total is transferred to the total points counter.

Total points counter: Shows your overall score for the current level. You can upload your scores to the internet and compete with other players around the world.

Witch guide: This window shows the face of your current witch guide. There are four witch guides to choose from, each with a unique magic spell. You decide which guide you want to help you before starting each level.

Magic charm: This window shows the current magic charm you have equipped. There are eleven magic charms to choose from, and each gives you a unique advantage. You decide which magic charm to equip before starting each level.

Score multiplier bar: This bar increases every time you hit an orb. When you reach a certain level on the bar your score multiplier will increase, enabling you to achieve a much higher score.

Current score multiplier: This lets you see at a glance what your current score multiplier is.

Combo counter: When you launch a new ball and hit your first orb, each subsequent orb you hit will increase your combo counter. The number of points you earn when you hit an orb depends on your current combo counter and score multiplier values. Making massive combos will earn you a massive score!

Magic letter ladder: Throughout every level of the game you will find the letters M, A, G, I and C floating amongst the orbs. As you hit each of these letters with a cannonball they will light-up the corresponding letter on the ladder. When all five letters are lit-up this will trigger your witch guide's magic spell.

Chaos bar: The Chaos bar sits along the top of the screen and slowly increases as you destroy orbs and complete levels. When the bar reaches it's maximum value, you earn a Chaos Point, and the bar resets. You can use your Chaos Points to either enlist the help of new Witch Guides or to purchase new Magic Charms.

Free ball catcher: If your cannonball lands in the catcher you receive a free ball. Many levels replace the Free Ball Catcher with a Paddle that you control with the mouse to deflect the cannonballs back towards the orbs.
Reasons to Play

Take part in the Orbyx Global Challenge
Orbyx may be a single-player game, but that doesn't mean you have to play alone. If you decide to compete in the Orbyx Global Challenge, every score you achieve on every level will be uploaded to the Internet and compared to the scores of other players around the world. You'll be told your global ranking after every level, and you can even share your score immediately with your friends on Facebook (see below).

Show-off your scores with Facebook
Whether you decide to compete in the Orbyx Global Challenge or not, we've made it easy for you to share your scores with your friends on Facebook. At the end of each level you can click the Facebook button to open a web browser. Just click 'Submit', and your score will appear on your Facebook profile for all your friends to see.

Develop your character with Chaos Points
Orbyx is a game that rewards perseverance. When you start-out on your adventure you'll find that your options are limited, with only a single Witch Guide (Emerald) and no Magic Charms at your disposal. As you progress however your Chaos Bar (see above) will begin to fill-up, and every time it reaches maximum capacity you'll be rewarded with a Chaos Point. Chaos Points are like currency that you can use to purchase new Witch Guides and Magic Charms (see below).

Seek the help of the Witch Guides
Witch Guides are the friendly witches who will help you through your adventure. There are four Witch Guides available, Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire and Amber, and each has a unique and powerful magic spell. You begin the game with a single guide (Emerald), but can choose to use your Chaos Points to enlist the help of the other guides if you wish. When beginning a level you must choose wisely the guide that you think will be the most help on that particular level.

Enhance your abilities with Magic Charms
Magic Charms are enchanted items of jewellery that give you a distinct advantage during the game. There are eight basic magic charms split into four categories - Foresight, Luck, Skill and Accuracy, plus three extra-special bonus charms. However, you can only take one charm with you when entering each level, so you must choose wisely. You will start the game with no Magic Charms but you can purchase them later with Chaos Points you collect along the way.

Experience a totally new adventure
Orbyx for the PC features a brand new adventure mode spanning five realms, from the earthly Amberwood Forest to the etherial Crystal Paradise, the home of the gods. With every level you complete you'll discover more about how the orbs have come to exist and why they must all be destroyed. Who is behind the chaos, why haven't the gods tried to stop them, and what do the witches have to do with it all?

Push your skills to the limit with Challenges
In addition to the 50 regular levels in the game there are an additional 100 challenges that you will unlock along the way. Challenges can be played at any time and are not part of the adventure mode, but they will push your skills to the absolute limit. You'll need the help of every Witch Guide and Magic Charm to beat them all!

Discover new ways to play
Orbyx adds a bunch of unique new gameplay features to the classic pachinko formula. These include a controllable 'Break-Out'-style paddle, a moveable cannon (it's not always at the top of the screen), cursed black orbs (nasty orbs that you don't want to hit), pinball-style bumpers, a Magic Letter Ladder and more...
